Ticks and tick-borne diseases aren’t spread evenly across the country. Some regions have a much higher risk for certain diseases.
Keep in mind that ticks are spreading to new areas (due to climate change, animal host movements, etc.), so previously “low risk” areas can become risky over time. Always stay informed about local tick presence. Many state health departments have good info on what ticks and diseases are common there.
