At Tick Borne Inc., we believe everyone should be able to access important health information, no matter their ability, age, or background.
We’re a youth-led, nonprofit organization, and we’re committed to making our website a welcoming, usable space for everyone, including people with disabilities.
1. What We’re Doing
We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), Level AA.
That means we design and write with accessibility in mind, including:
- Using clear, readable fonts and good color contrast
- Including alt text for meaningful images
- Making sure navigation works with keyboard-only users
- Writing in plain, simple language whenever possible
- Avoiding flashing or distracting visuals
- Defining medical or scientific terms when we use them
We’re also careful with tone, avoiding jargon or medical language unless we define it, because accessibility is about more than just design.
2. Still a Work in Progress
We’re learning as we go! If there’s a feature or part of our site that doesn’t work well for you, please let us know.
If you find something on our site that doesn’t work well for you, we truly want to hear from you. Whether it’s a button you can’t reach, a document that doesn’t read well with a screen reader, or a video without captions. Please let us know so we can fix it.
3. Contact for Accessibility
If you have trouble accessing anything on our website, or need information in a different format (like a printable guide or screen reader-friendly file), please reach out by using our Contact Us page.
We’ll do our best to get back to you quickly and with care.
Thank You 💚
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re learning, advocating, or looking for support, we see you and we’re working hard to make this space better for everyone.
