These are two other viruses discovered in the last decade in the U.S., tied to tick bites: Lone Star tick for Heartland (a recently discovered phlebovirus), unknown for Bourbon (another new virus called thogotovirus; first identified in Kansas) but likely ticks. They have caused a small number of cases in the Midwest/South (Missouri, Kansas, etc.), with symptoms like fever, low blood counts. No specific treatment (just supportive care). Still very rare, but on the radar.
